We are excited to announce the addition of Dr. Monica Kulkarni in September 2022. She is accepting new patients. She is working in our Cary office for the rest of 2022 then transitioning to Holly Springs in the spring of 2023.
Dr. Kulkarni grew up in Michigan in the Metro Detroit area. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan with a major of Neuroscience. She completed medical school at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan.
She then moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where she completed a 3 year residency in family medicine at Atrium Health. She completed her one year fellowship in sports medicine at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord, NC. During fellowship, Dr. Kulkarni served as the assistant team physician for Catawba College and as the team physician for Jay M Robinson varsity and junior varsity football team. She also helped provide coverage for multiple sporting events, including the North Carolina state high school wrestling and track championships, Charlotte Arena Football games, and Charlotte Football Club games.
Dr. Kulkarni is married and lives with her husband in Holly Springs, NC. In her free time, she loves to play tennis and loves any outdoor activity including hiking and biking. She also loves to travel and prioritizes spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. Kulkarni lives by the motto “listen to your patients, be the best advocate you can be for them, and help them get back to doing the things they love”. She strives to create a comfortable environment for her patients and works hard to ensure each patient’s concerns are addressed appropriately and in a timely manner. She uses shared decision making to create an individualized plan with patients to encourage a healthy lifestyle based on their preferences and daily routines. Dr. Kulkarni is passionate about preventative medicine and mental health, as well as women’s health. She treats her patients as if they are her own family members, as maintaining each patient’s trust is very important to her.
