Carolina Family Practice & Sports Medicine has a unique model of care in that we employ Certified Athletic Trainers, health care professionals who are licensed in the state of North Carolina.

The Athletic Trainer collaborates with physicians to optimize activity and participation of patients and clients by specializing in the prevention, diagnosis, and intervention of emergency, acute, and chronic medical conditions involving impairment, functional limitations, and disabilities. Athletic training is not the same profession as personal training.

Certified athletic trainers (ATC) are regularly employed in hospitals, clinics, the offices of family, orthopedic, pediatric, physicality and sports medicine practices.
