Brian Rue, MD, MS, CAQSM

Dr. Brian Rue joined the Cary office in February 2022 after relocating from Columbus, Ohio. He attended The Ohio State University for medical school and residency in Family Medicine, where he served as chief resident. He completed his Primary Care Sports Medicine fellowship at the University of Cincinnati, where he served as a team physician for all of the varsity teams at Miami University, as well as Northwest High School football. He also holds a Master’s degree in Physiology.

Dr. Rue’s medical interests include sports medicine, including the use of musculoskeletal ultrasound to help diagnose and treat injuries. He also enjoys practicing general family medicine, including preventative medicine, evidence-based medicine, pediatrics, and office procedures.

Outside of work, Dr. Rue enjoys golf, skiing, DIY projects, cooking, music, and spending time outdoors with family. He grew up playing soccer, basketball, and baseball, and remains a passionate soccer fan. His wife Lauren is a Certified Public Accountant, and they have a daughter and a dachshund at home. They enjoy traveling and exploring new restaurants/breweries – feel free to recommend your favorites!
