Dr. Alicia Chitanand joined CFPSM in 2018 after graduating from Moses Cone Sports Medicine fellowship, where she served as the team physician for Guilford College, Greensboro Swarm G-League basketball, Carolina Cobras Arena Football, and Ben L. Smith High School.
She completed her residency from Riverside Regional in Newport News, VA and her medical school from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Brandenton, FL.
Dr. Chitanand lives by the motto “Help your community lead an active and healthy lifestyle”. Being a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, she is able to incorporate Osteopathic Manipulation (OMT) to help improve the health of her patients. Through her OMT training, Dr. Chitanand is able to use her hands to diagnose and treat ailments to help guide the body towards self healing. This combination of Family Medicine, Sports Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine training arms her with a unique perspective towards ailments and respective remedies.
Having been born in California, grown up in upstate New York and lived in Florida and Virginia before moving to North Carolina, Dr. Chitanand has a penchant for traveling and loves to travel and spend time outdoors with her husband in her spare time.
